I read in this week's Solihull News that a company, McCarthy-Stone, have unveiled plans for building a retirement home on the site of the Chester Arms.

A planning application has not yet been submitted to Solihull MBC.

Apparantly a presentation was held at Arden Hall on 12th January to get local opinions. I don't know about anyone else but I knew nothing about it. The proposals can be seen here:-

I had an invitation to view the plans before Christmas at the Youth & Community Centre in Hurst Lane North. I went along and had a look and gave my views. I was told that it is still very early days and if anything does go forward it's likely to be a few years before it happens.

A planning application, number 2012/256, has now been received by Solihull MBC for this development.

Further details, and drawings can be viewed by visiting the Solihull MBC website, Planning Section, and searching on the application number. I tried inserting a link for the correct page but it didn't work.
