If you haven't got children attending a particular school it is sometimes difficult to know what is going on and to ascertain what sort of education and experinces the children of today are being offered. The news is full of what's wrong with schools, but it's rare to hear about one that is getting things right. I have just spent a pleasant half hour browsing the Castle Bromwich Junior School website. It is full of news about what the school is doing and how it is involving all children. Their achievements are many ranging from sport, to raising money for charity, music and just providing a range of experiences that capture the imagination of children and allow all to participate however they feel comfortable. Why not go and have a look at the website yourself. See how the school rock band played at the cavern, the money raised by the children for the Acorns Children's Hospice Trust, the new outdoor gym and read about what the school is gaining from its partnership with a school in China. | |
