Anybody seen the work that's being done to clear up the graveyard? Being done by probation service and youth volunteers. It's looking so much better. This is another project that's been achieved by the public asking for it to be done and offering to help. Alison Lush the Local Neighbourhood Manager has been really helpful with this one.

YES...Wonderful work and appreciated by all the grave yard users I am sure.

My congratulations & thanks to Alison Lush and the probation service and the youth volunteers who are all still actively involved in maintaining & expanding the work they have begun.

The work on the graveyard has made an unquestionably positive difference however there is still a collapsed brick wall spilling onto the pavement that needs attention.

There are on going discussions regarding renovating the grave yard as there is still a large amount of work to be done. So far the work has been carried out on a voluntary basis without any real resources. I'll take a look at the brick wall and bring it to the attention of those who are responsible as this is beyond the capability of the volunteers we are using.

It is heartening to hear of the groups of volunteers in the are.  How about the council organising a 'Big Tidy up' campaign.. check out the official website... If we could get all the groups who use this site to advertise their events to join in plus residents in the area - perhaps we could  reduce the amount of litter and graffiti that spoils the area.

Solihull Council's Environmental Champions arrange litter picks and would probably be interested in working with community groups and residents on any projects they would like to arrange. Have you any particular area in mind? The Castle Bromwich Community Project has been considering litter picking around the ground at the back of the Hall Gardens that is used by dog walkers, but would be happy to consider other areas that residents suggest and liasing with the Environmental Champions to arrange something.

Perhaps we could section the village off into 4 sectors and so litter pick in a number of areas... all meeting up at the end of the event .....
