We, the residents of Castle Bromwich, can now use, (officially) the recycling facilities at Birmingham owned Tamar Drive.

Notification to the effect, is posted on the notice board, that is visable from the forecourt at Arden Hall.

Attending our Parish Council  meetings can be beneficial.

If you do use the Birmingham Refuse facility make sure you go to Tameside Drive and NOT Tamar Drive to dump your rubbish. Tamar Drive is a residential cul-de-sac off Windward Way, Chelmsley Wood.

In my haste to promote the good news, I made an error.

Thamside Drive it is. Thank you for pointing it out.

As a matter of interest my son, who lives in Smith's Wood,  Chelmsley Wood, was asked for his Post Code yesterday at the Tameside Drive Tip.  He gave his sister's Post Code which is B34 and they let him in.

His own Post Code is B36, the same as Castle Bromwich. Therefore I assume he could have given his own Post Code.

Does this agreement only apply to residents of Castle Bromwich? Anyone know any different?

Further to my earlier posting, I have today received a "Focus on Castle Bromwich" newsheet issued by the Lib Dems that contains a petition for Castle Bromwich residents to sign calling upon Birmingham City Council to allow Solihull MBC residents with a B36 or B37 post code to use the Tameside Drive tip.

That suggests to me that either we don't have official permission to use the tip or the Lib Dems are behind the times. Anyone know which one it is?

No doubt, like me, all Castle Bromwich residents have received a copy of the latest newsletter, "In Touch" from our Tory councillors informing us that the trial allowing B36 post code residents to use the Tameside Drive tip has now been been extended. Castle Bromwich residents are being urged to use it.

Common sense prevails at last.
