As I peruse these pages, trying to gauge the mood of my neighbours, I often wonder.......am I alone?

In order to be of service to our community, does, for instance, the Chairman, and therefore leading light, of the Parish Council, ever read  and maybe, submit, to the opinions voiced here?

This site has approximetly 50 members. Surley I am not alone in wondering......why do only the same folk bother to give some input?

I realise that the Parish Council meetings on the last Wednesday of each month, are the place to be heard, and have recorded, opinions and decisions that are the "peoples voice" but......it would be, in my opinion, a credit to the Councillors, if we could see some "outside the box " thinking.

Or am I to presume, that in this day and age of technology, its not the done thing, without first taking a vote?

Just a thought.

Let's be Social is currently trying to persuade local Councillors to get online and communicate with residents. A seminar organised by the Warickshire Alliance of Local Councils also tried to encourage use of Social Media by local Councillors but it's my experience that most are reluctant to use this means of communication. Some may read blogs like this, but most would be wary of answering a question or giving an opinion.

Ken Hawkins a Borough Councillor for Elmdon has his own blog, but I haven't seen any other Solihull Councillors using one although Meriden Parish Council does use Twitter.
