Isn't it great to see so many youngsters at Arden Hall playing fields on the weekend using the facilities that have been underused for so long!

At a time when all are against the parish council I think they should be applauded for bringing the youth of the community back to the playing fields making it a positive and vibrant place for all to enjoy.

Well Done

I agree about the youngsters playing football in Arden Hall park, it is heart-warming. I think that this comes down to a few individuals who give up their time to help train and organise these kids. These are the people that we should be applauding and supporting. I think that the council should do more in the area to encourage community based activities. This could be achieved by going in to schools to give demonstrations of various activities, sporting and otherwise, this would work and start to develop more community cohesion.

Well pointed out , its the oraganisers we should applaud, not the Parish Council. Come the annual hand out from the Chairmans  Charity Fund, and see who gets what then. ( Its next month by the way )

The Parish Council doesn't do this, but there are local Sports Clubs that do. Castle Bromwich Tennis Club and Castle Bromwich Utd have both developed links with the local schools and train many local school children as a resullt.

I think we have a lot to thank local volunteers for as most local clubs sporting and otherwise rely on them. The only thing the Parish Council help with is providing facilities and they charge highly for these - they aren't free.

Totally agree about the volunteers well done to them. Also the idea of having a cafe in the clubhouse too!

Sandwich was lovely! I'll be back this week
