I read in the March edition of The Echo that Solihull MBC is to make savings by not collecting the grass cuttings produced by mowing council owned grass.

Castle Bromwich Cllr, Ted Richards, states "We have said we will trial this, as not collecting grass cuttings will make vital savings and will bring us in line with our neighbouring authorities who also do not collect the cuttings."

I have lived on Bradford Road for almost 30 years. I can't remember when the grass cuttings were ever collected. They are usually left strewn all over the pavement, that's were the grass is in good enough condition to produce any cuttings that is.

Perhaps others can say if the grass cuttings produced near their properties are collected or not.

Totally agree grass is cut and you spend days treading it indoors or slipping on it in wet weather. If Solihull have been paying for it to be collected they should be asking for a refund - perhaps help them with all this money they say they have to save.
