For anybody like me who can't remember if it's the week to put out the green recycling box or the black recycling box, there's a calendar with details HERE

I suspect many hundreds of green wheelie bins weren't emptied today, 5th April, because residents did not receive notification they were due to be emptied. There have been numerous mentions in the free papers that residents would be notified beforehand if their collection was to start on the 5th or 12th of April. The collection lorry trundled along Bradford Road this morning about 8.00am almost without stopping. Luckily I saw it and went out to speak to the guys. They admitted the council hadn't sent out the leaflets. Fortunately for me they waited while I fetched my bin from the back garden. Many others weren't so lucky.

As for the council, the words couldn't, booze up and brewery come to mind.

I searched the Solihull MBC website for the calendar detailing which days they would be emptied last night, but could not find it. I've tried again today with no luck. I'll keep looking and put a link here when it appears.

I know other areas of Castle Bromwich had their green wheelie bins emptied today, Tuesday, 6th April.

I suggest residents who have green rubbish to get rid of put put their green bin out this week whether they've been told to or not. It appears Castle Bromwich is being done this week even though we haven't been told.

According to Solihull Council's website there has been a problem with the distribution company delivering calendars who are working to put it right - Information HERE

In the meantime, Residents can find out when their green wheelie bin is due for collection by visiting the Council's website HERE and looking up their street name or postcode. They will then be able to click through to find the due dates for Green Wheelie Bin collections.
