I wanted to know the date of the next Castle Bromwich Parish Council Meeting, so I checked the web site calendar.

According to what I hold as sacred, the information is not shown.

Has the organisation been dis-banded?

If it has, dont forget to apply for a reduction in your council tax of £53.64 for the year.

If it hasnt, please go when the meetings start up again. There are always plenty of empty seats, just waiting to be filled, and you as a community charge payer have bought them, so use them.

The next Parish Council Meeting is 7.30pm on Wednesday November 25th. I'll update the calendar on this site.

Parish Councils are a statutory body and can't be disbanded without approval from the Secretary of State, and even where it's the residents wish, this is not given. From 200 to 2005 residents of Lickey End in Worcestershire tried to get rid of their Parish Council and had the backing of the majority of Parish Council members, but the Secretary of State would not allow it. Read the story HERE. There was another Parish Council consisting of people voted in on a get rid of the Parish Council mandate, the details of which of I can't find at the moment, which met the statutory twice a year and never charged a precept or did anything because the government would not alow them to disband.
