Most people will have heard that Solihull MBC are phasing out black bin bags and will start introducing wheelie bins from late September. Staff from Solihull MBC's waste & recycling department will be on hand at Castle Bromwich Community Festival on Saturday September 12th to answer any questions you might have about this. Find them on their stall at Lanchester Park between 12pm and 5pm.

So, to the tune of "Dont Throw Your Love Away, by the Searchers (1960?), I offer you the following advice. "Dont throw your bin away" Oh no no no,Dont throw your bin away" Cause you might need it someday!!" A compost bin? Grow your own spuds next spring? On its side, a dog kennel? Readers, please think before disposing of this gift from the council. And remember, if you do get rid of it, you will have to buy one, when you think of a use for it!! Every bin that is given up, will create a landfill problem, which is what we are trying to avoid...isnt it? Just a thought, eh?
