A Right Royal River Trip

Posted on June 18, 2012 at 3:50 AM

Castle Bromwich resident and Parish Councillor John Horne-MacDonald was part of the Pershore Pheonox Dragon Boat Team selected to be part of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant procession.

The crew joined the 1000 strong flotilla including just 13 other dragon boats travelling the seven miles from Battersea to Tower Bridge. Cheering, spectators waving union jacks helped to make it an unforgettable experience for all involved.

The Pershore Pheonix Dragonboat team  trains every sunday, unless they are racing. The racing season goes from April to September, with races all over the uk from Teeside to Exeter, London to Liverpool. Pershore Pheonix are currently top of the standard league. For more info on dragonboating visit the British dragonboat association at www.dragonboat.org.uk
