Photo shows Members of Castle Bromwich & District Lions Club
Sunday saw members of local Lions Clubs enjoying the sunshine in Canon Hill Park whilst raising money to support the Hospice at Home Service by participating in a 5km sponsored pyjama parade. The event was a family occasion organised by Lions Clubs International - District 105M.
Hospice at home provides free care and support to individuals nearing the end of their lives in their own homes. Just as importantly, that support extends to the family and carers of the terminally ill at a time when they need it most.

Staff from Solihull Charity SOLO ( Solihull Life Opportunities) will abseil off the top of Fort Dunlop tomorrow to raise funds to replace equipment stolen by Burglars. Thousands of pounds of equipment were stolen from the premises of the Chelmsley based charity which helps people with learning difficulties when burglars cut a hole through the roof into the store room.
80 people will join in the mass abseil, many in fancy dress hoping to raise money to replace the stolen equipment.

Castle Bromwich 700
My family recently heard about the Castle Bromwich Community Hall Project and its offer of a commemorative paver. The timing could not have been better as we were considering how to commemorate the life of a recently deceased relative and this seemed to offer the perfect opportunity to both preserve her name and to contribute some money towards a worth while community project.
St Mary & St Margaret's Church are offering for sale 700 walkway pavers which can be used to preserve your name, to remember a loved one, a special event, a business, a club or a society. The choice is yours. The pavers will be engraved for the area outside the proposed New Community Hall.
Anybody wanting further details should contact the Revd. Gavin Douglas OBE - Phone: 0121 747 8546
